Hello there!

Here's a bit of information about me and about where I learned my skills.

My first marketing job was at a local theatre in my hometown. I originally wanted to work in theatre performance and production. However, it was at the Stamford Corn Exchange that I discovered a new passion for digital marketing. From there, I got a job at Active Internet Marketing, an SEO agency where I developed my digital marketing skills even further.

My Experience & Skills

My main role at Active Internet Marketing was as a copywriter. I wrote service pages and blogs for my clients. I then used SEO-driven strategies to rank those pages as high as possible on Google Search Engine. I learned a lot about the technical side of SEO in this role. I wrote for independent businesses in all sorts of trades, including roofing, architecture, kitchen installation, self-storage facilities, flooring, electrical engineering and psychiatry. I absolutely loved the research that went into producing written content for these different clients.

I have been writing all my life. As a child, I wrote novels and short stories. As a teenager, I continued to write my stories but also delved into the world of blogging. I wrote a few articles that were published on Medium about life as a teenager in Britain and advice for fellow teenagers. When I was seventeen, I spent a summer working for my local newspaper, the Stamford Mercury, where I got a taste for journalism. That inspired the next part of my story.

I started my journalism degree at University Centre Peterborough in 2023. This is where I developed my journalistic writing skills but I also learned practical media skills like videography and photography. I have produced a variety of short films and photography work for university assignments and I have used these skills to help clients.

Helping People Start Their Businesses

The first client I worked for as a solo web developer was Hudson Hammerworks, a self-employed one-man blacksmithing business with very little presence online. Step by step, we worked together to set up a website, get ranking on Google Search Engines, get set up on Google My Business and produce reams of content for the company website.

Starting up a business is very hard in this day and age and marketing is almost exclusively all online now. I have a huge respect and admiration for those who have chosen the self-employed path and those who are looking to start their own business. It is a real pleasure for me to play a part in your dream by helping you get started in developing an online presence.
